Where I'm From

I am from the busy city and the quiet countryside,
from the fields of grape vines and apple trees,
I am from the planet that splashes,
from the fruit bowl of New Zealand,
I am from the stone lions by the soldiers names,
from the east coast,
I am from David, Amanda and Oscar,
from the big family BBQs
I am from croissants on Christmas morning,
from family gatherings on birthdays,
I am from late night journeys to Castle Point,
from boogie boarding on beach waves,
I am from long walks up to the peak,
from sunshine bay

I am from Hawkes Bay
